Hello, I’m James Clemson, a senior majoring in Engineering Physics at the Colorado School of Mines. I currently work within the Oceanography Research Group with Dr. Bia Villas Bôas on simulating the effectiveness of satellites in measuring interactions between the ocean and atmosphere. This work is part of a NASA proposal for a new satellite, ODYSEA, that will simultaneously measure ocean winds and surface currents with greater accuracy and swath coverage. The objective of this research is to determine whether ODYSEA would be capable of resolving meso and sub-mesoscale air-sea interactions which are currently poorly defined.
