Undergraduate Research Assistant

Colorado School of Mines

Hi, I am Bryce Irving, a undergraduate computer science major. This is my second year at Mines. In my free time, I play trombone, I am a member in the Mines Mathematics and Computing Collaborative outreach club, and I am part of the Grand Challenge Scholars Program.

I started research with Bia last summer for the Mines SURF program. Currently, I am working with Bia and Gui on developing a Rust crate for ray tracing surface ocean waves. The robustness of the Rust language lets us easily parallelize the ray tracing, improving computation times. We are verifying the results of our work, and after that, we plan to release the open-source crate and submit to joss.
